Housewife. Her registered name is One Bad Housewife and she is my favorite. She is also huge and was a race horse.
Cat. She is batshit and green and I ride her the most so I have the most pictures of her.
Idk I don't have pic of all of them because my laptop crashed a couple of weeks ago and they're all still on that hard drive. But here you go.
And for horse treats, if I'm feeling like I'm Super Groom then I mash together grated carrots, apple chunks, oatmeal, and molasses. Then bake until it all sticks together. Then I throw them in the pens and watch the horses fight, taking bets on who will win and who will have to get put in the loser's pen for the week.

Also here is Cat dead asleep on her lead rope. She is narcoleptic and sometimes just falls over in the pasture.

Date: 2013-07-18 06:12 am (UTC)Alvis likes Al but is completely overwhelmed and intimidated by Edward. Al is easy to get along with and interesting, though she's thinks he's holding back a lot. Which is fine, she's used to it and won't pry. Even though she doesn't realize Al actually IS her age, she's having a lot of fun being a kid and hanging around with other kids. It's not something she's ever experienced before. ~Childhood~ 8D
Also, I'm sad I missed Al-with-a-body. And I sort of want the Als to conquer Camp, Alvis riding in on Alphonse's shoulders.

He really likes kids and he likes feeling more his age, so he doesn't mind doing things like building sandcastles, etc. with her. 8>
He doesn't blame her for being afraid of Ed. SHE'S NOT EVEN THE FIRST SMALL GIRL that Ed has scared off somehow so at this point it's just like. IGNORE HIM AND HE'LL IGNORE YOU AND LET'S GO PICK FLOWERS INSTEAD yes okay

Date: 2013-07-18 08:25 pm (UTC)Due to the above awkwardness about hanging out with so many youngsters, he might be initially hesitant to do Vanship Adventures, but he's also...starting to be really, REALLY bored in Camp, since he's so used to having a full schedule. So there's a fair chance he'll latch onto teaching her things. And also he's curious about vanships, so there's that.
Also, learning some of that back story will help him be less awkward, because his two attitudes towards dealing with kids are either a) coddle them, in which case talking about himself and his life and getting into deep things is a no go because death and wars and death, or b) ...kind of talk to them like adults! Knowing that Alvis has dealt with things like that will make it so he can talk more frankly with her.
Also, ALSO, when the last part of the mini-thing came about, I decided pretty quickly that Felix was going to think he hurt one of the kids he knows, and that I wanted a decent level of trauma out of it, because...why not. Hands down Alvis was the kid that was going to make him the most horrified for having hurt. He's a little bit surprised by that but THERE YOU GO. He's pretty much set on a path towards mafiaing for her in the future if someone tries to mess with her :/
(and in a last addendum, BSG/LE crossover fic: YES. It's been a while since I watched LE (and I haven't watched Fam, but I really should), so I didn't make those connections, but now that you mention it. It should be a thing.)

It would be nice for Al to have someone outside of her group to talk with about ~home things~ because she's extremely sensitive towards canonmates and the trauma/hardships they've all gone through. Camp is sort of their vacation so she doesn't want to bog anyone down with bad feelings. She had a bit of a hard time at the beginning as well because her life and world seem really different from the bulk of the population and that can be a little lonely. They'll have to have the conversation they started in CFUW about wars in CFUD sometime.

Date: 2013-07-18 03:11 pm (UTC);; Dio is her second most important person in the whole world, behind Claus. Right behind Claus. And Lucciola sandwiches them. All of the vanship building and adventure time together is so precious and important to her -- she loves learning from him and is a really attentive student because she wants to get it all right. She doesn't want Dio or anyone else to get hurt protecting her.
She thinks Dio is great because he has a "let's do anything RIGHT NOW" attitude combined with all the knowledge and experience. She recognizes that he has an incredibly sharp mind, especially when it comes to strategy and all the behind the scenes maneuvers. His curiosity is especially attractive because it matches hers. All this concentrated Dio contact is making her a little mischievous as well, which is probably a good thing. I think she probably brings all the cool/interesting/new things to him first because she knows he'll appreciate it most. And they're incredibly free here in Camp, moreso than they have ever been back home, and so they're finally getting normalish lives/childhoods.
She worries about Dio a lot, though :( She's really sensitive to any upset or sadness he might have. Things are better now that Lucciola is around because she knows it's is a relief for Dio and that he has someone dedicated to his well being. But Al is concerned about how Dio will feel after this event. I suspect she has some inkling of the PTSD Dio goes through every once in a while. It's different but also similar to hers :(

Date: 2013-07-19 07:21 am (UTC)But yeah Dio is just. Dio is just everything for Al, he does his best to to be any and everything for her sake and makes it clear that he is. If she needs cheering up or wants to satiate her curiosity about something, Dio will jump on top of that in a second. He will play games and go places and take her places to make her smile and let her experience any little new thing she wants to experience (HE KNOWS ABOUT BEING SHELTERED MAN). If she's thoughtful or upset, concerned or anything he will ask her what is up and mellow up to give her advice and talk to her about anything. He knows she has a hard time sometimes, but Dio is also kind of the master of looking at people and being like "tell me what you are thinking about" and keeping an eye out to make sure she's not trying to repress or hide anything just because she feels like she'd be a bother because sharing feelings, so he can do absolutely anything he can about it, not matter how pointless and dumb or big and heavy. Especially with her because she's still young and learning about things and he wants to do his best for her. And encourage her and support her about anything. So hopes that she will come to him about anything with less subtly and him being like HEY. TL;DR he will be her wings and her anchor, whatever any situation needs him to be for her, he will be. He's versatile like that. :|b And he absolutely adores her so loves doing it all.
And this goes for teaching! He's so excited and so happy about her vanship because even though she already has experience, he knows she's a natural. But he'll be there to teach her everything and answer all of her questions about piloting and navigation and maintenance until one day Al will be the hardcore vanship builder for someone else. ♥ She's also good at picking up everything else, and he knows she's taking it all in and getting it and loves that. My smart clever babygirl. ;; I WILL TEACH YOU ALL OF THE THINGS!
In terms of worry though that goes both ways. Dio knows at least that he can take care of his own well being if anything (and does, not just for himself but because he knows it would be stupid as hell if he didn't) He understands where Al comes from a lot, and it sucks sometimes when he broods about it too much because of how related (literally) he was/is to the reason Al has her occasional problems. Not in a completely guilt ridden way, but sometimes it just hangs there. I mean there is a little bit of BEING SO CLOSE TO THE PROBLEM guilt that he wants to do his best to fix what he can that his sister ruined. But even without that feeling, that want for Al is just natural more than anything. So there is also this hanging parallel. Dio was a tiny timid scared child and we know how his sister dealt with that. Now he sees Al who sometimes is the same way, so he aims to do the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what she did.
Her inkling's probably spot on since when she herself is down about anything Dio doesn't really try to cover up that he's been there, he's felt that way. He finds it better overall to be more honest because Al can't really deal as well if he's holding anything back himself, and won't be able to completely wrap her mind around it and go about looking for an out of the slump, so he offers it as bridgework for her to follow. Basically I made this comparison before but like Lucciola was his own firefly in the darkness he aims to be the same for her whenever she's in a bad place. Because he wants her to be happy. She's still young and able to be a child in a lot of cases and he wants so much for her to have that since she still has the chance to. FABDAD LOVES YOU LOTS.
He also just loves that she's being more open and mischievous and overall happy and uuuuuuuuu I CAN TALK FOREVER SHUT UP.

Hiro: I think it started out with bad touch creeper and then somehow she adopted him? I need to go back and reread those threads but she needs more creepers in her life. It's weird that she's so safe here.
Haruto or whatever his name is: She's had very very little contact with him but so far she thinks he's shady.

Lucciola: I... Don't even know where to start. His presence here makes her so happy and occasionally so sad. She just wants to make all of the memories with him because she knows that eventually their time here together will end. She wants to work on vanships and fly together and learn how to be a ninja ballerina and give him things to make him smile. She didn't know him very well in the series but in the short time he became important to her and then with the Dio connection it became even stronger. Sometimes she's still really unsure around him because he can be so difficult to read... And with everything she just looks up to Lucciola and idolizes him so much. Self-sacrificing! Capable! Loyal! He is the epitome of Hero to her. Also his careful attention to Dio further endears Lucciola to her because she knows Dio needs and benefits from him. No one can quite reach Fab!dad like Lucci can.
UHHHHH WHAT ELSE WHAT ELSE?? She just really craves quiet happy times with Lucciola. She wants to share all the stuff she learns with him and be close and dance and and and ;;

Her life consists almost entirely of running around aimlessly to whatever scene catches her attention at the moment, often something exciting and new in Camp. She doesn't have a lot of firm direction right now and a few people can get her a little wound up, so coming to Lucciola is a bit like settling down. I'd really like to see them have some quiet activities together -- training or creative or otherwise. He's so gentle with her and calm.
Also teach her how to beat Dio at chess, Lucciola.

Date: 2013-07-21 01:11 am (UTC)Alvis gets a little starry-eyed when it comes to Thor. She loves her some hero types and gravitates towards those who give off protective personality traits. Thor is big, strong, friendly, and has flying goats... What could possibly be any better? She felt very comfortable around him very quickly. Alvis deals with all these insecurities and doubts and so it's nice for her to be surrounded by examples of what she wants to be. She doesn't know Thor very well but has already decided to duckling him, thinking to learn by example. Expect lots of deliveries of ugly but tasty baked goods.
These two are so cute I can hardly stand it sometimes. Teach her how to be a brave hero, Thor~

That hinted at a sort of fierceness and dedication to her that he wasn't expecting, but it impressed him and is exactly the kind of thing he does know how to relate to. When he clues in to why she might be shadowing him, and once he knows more about her doubts and insecurities, expect him to definitely want to take her under his wing and provide a proper heroic example--and perhaps instruction--for her.
It also helps that she's totally adorable, and has that air of innocence about her that hits his protective instincts hard, so... Woe betide anyone who upsets her.
